On a side note...we used those trick candles on Ike's cake this year...and he blew and blew and they kept relighting. It was very funny and Ike was a very good sport about it!

Ike's Birthday--15 years old
Just like I am amazed that Eli has turned 12 I can hardly believe that Ike is 15! He is almost old enough to drive...and in some states he could have his permit this year. (not in Pennsylvania!) Some things will never change in Ike's life...he is still able to get a rise out of anyone in the room and he HATES going to bed (or should I say sleeping) just as much today as he did when he was 18 months old. Ike has grown up a great deal in the last year though and has become someone that is not only older but also dependable. He loves to cook and is awesome at cleaning when he needs to be. He is a strong athlete and a great student. Something that his friends won't ever know is that he is a wonderful Home Teacher. He and his dad visit nothing but single or widowed older ladies and they love him. I have seen him give them hugs, push their wheelchairs to more comfortable places, offer to carry things and ask how they are feeling. There was a time a couple of years ago that I would have thought this impossible for my oldest son! What a joy it has been to see him leave some of his less qualities behind as he grows to be a man.
On a side note...we used those trick candles on Ike's cake this year...and he blew and blew and they kept relighting. It was very funny and Ike was a very good sport about it!
