Nathan! you have been a beautiful blessing and a wonderful surprise from your very entry into this world. Your happy spirit and kind heart has given so much that has benefited and brought goodness to our family. Nathan you are a natural people person. I am not sure that you know this yet but you naturally put others at ease and help them to see that there is joy in simple daily living. The 
way that you opened your presents this year...with your feet...is an example of how you make everything fun for all that involved. (even those that are just looking on)
You never cease to surprise me. An example of this happened this semester in your math class. You had to finish that self-guided Internet course before the end of the year and your teachers were calling me and telling me that you needed to be further along and work a little faster. Of course there you were unconcerned; telling me that you were fine. Indeed you were--finishing weeks ahead of when your teachers thought possible. You had told me that all you were doing was reading ahead so that you could understand more and look at you! Reading ahead and finishing early.
These have been 14 great years and I am looking forward to many more such great years. Your heart is one of the best that I have ever known and feel blessed to be your mother...Happy 14th!
